Matcha Shortbread Recipe

Servings:

~ 40 pieces

Ingredients:

  • Unsalted Butter 140g
  • Powdered Sugar 45g
  • Flour 210g
  • Matcha Powder 30g
  • Roasted Sliced Almond 30g
  • Powdered Milk 10g (Optional)

Instruction:

  1. Soften butter at room temperature
  2. Add powdered sugar then beat butter until creamy
  3. Add flour through a sifter into the butter gradually and keep beating after each addition
  4. Add Matcha powder and sliced almond, then mix with dough
  5. Knead the dough gently to get rid of excess air in the dough
  6. Wrap the dough with the plastic wrap
  7. Shape the dough into a stick shape
  8. Freeze the dough for 1 hr
  9. Cut the dough into 1/4 inch thick pieces
  10. Preheat the oven to 330F
  11. Bake the shortbread for 20 mins at 330F
  12. Cool down the shortbreads, they will become harder
  13. Enjoy!

Note:

The matcha powder which is grinded green tea has bitterness taste. May add more sugar to make it taste better.
